I have a long history with mental illness. Overcoming depression made me realize my own resilience. It also made it clear that I wasn’t taking care of myself. I believe that in order for us to fully engage with ourselves and others we have to make time for self-love through our self-care habits. My goal with this blog is to encourage women in my age group to make time for self-care daily.

    1. Thank you so much Christine! I’m so glad you found value in this post. I put a lot research into creating my blogmas post and it’s nice to see that it’s paying off.

I struggled with mental health for well over a decade but I’m still in therapy as a precaution. I started blog as a hobby but when I realized that it could help people I decided I wanted to try and take it to the next level. The spark school’s content is helping me A LOT!!

      1. I honestly struggled with it a bit when my dad passed in 2006 and then it really hit me about three years ago after a horrible divorce and custody battle what time still going through… I take it day by day and see my therapist as needed. I’m glad you found this blog as a way to keep yourself occupied, happy and to help other people because there are plenty of people that need the positivity as we both know. You are very inspiring and keep it up I will enjoy reading your blog post and you taught me something new today what a blogmas is! 😂

      2. My depression hit hard when i was 16yrs old (two years after my dad died). Depression brought me to some incredibly dark places in my life and I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d make it to 40. Things literally turned around for me around the age of 38. I dont know what clicked but i slowly started to feel better then. I think i just knew i wanted more for myself.

Lol blogmas is essentially posting holiday inspired content for the month of December. I’m only doing Dec 1-25th. Vlogmas is the term for YouTubers.
