This blog is open to everyone but I chose the name “self-care at forty” because I am 40. We should engage in self-care at any age but I really wanted to create a platform that women in my decade can benefit from because even though 40 is not old, if we weren’t taking care of ourselves before, now is the time to start. In addition to scheduling your first mammogram at 40, here are a few other things women in their 40s should pay attention to: blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, potential changes in our cycle, slower metabolism, and changes with our vision. By the way, I am not a healthcare professional nor am I claiming to be, and this blog is not just about health my goal is to encourage everyone to live our best lives, engage in self-love through self-care and to just take care of ourselves. I want to provide useful, healthy, honest and candid self-care tips, ideas, and information to everyone. Especially women of color.
